Biography

Occupation: Full-time Bass fishing guide and tournament angler with over 30 years of Bass fishing experience.

 

Former Occupation: Retired Army Colonel with over 29 years of active duty service from 1976 to 2005, and government contractor from 2005 to 2009.

 

Hobbies: Trout fishing, golf, exercising, dancing and sports cars.

 

Education: Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Monroe Community College, Rochester NY; Bachelor Degree in Education from Cortland State, Cortland NY; Master Degree in Health Administration from Baylor University, Waco TX; and numerous military courses and schools to include resident Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, KS.

 

Career Highlights: 27 military awards to include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 5 OLC, Expert Field Medical Badge, Air Assault Badge, Parachutist Badge and the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge.  Also awarded the Order of Military Medical Merit and inducted into the Army Officer Candidate School Hall of Fame, class of 2005. 

 

Athletic Highlights: New York State High School Section Five Champion in the 440 yard dash; New York State Region Three Junior College Champion in the 440 yard dash; State University of New York College Champion in the 440 yard dash; record holder of several high school, junior college and college school, track and meet records in the 440 yard dash, 600 yard dash and mile relay; induction to the Monroe Community College Hall of Fame in 1990. Hole in One, 7th hole, Fort Sam Houston, La Loma Course. 

 

Fishing Highlights: Winning several club tournaments in Louisiana, South Carolina and Virginia and ranking high in the club standings to include the highest ranking ever with the Jackson Anglers in my first year as a non-boater; qualifying for the 1990 MBAA National Championship and placing 38th in the final standings; 2nd and 7th in the KATS Angler of the Year in 2007 and 2008 respectively to include two tournament wins; cashing a check at the 2009 FLW Stren Amistad tournament, the 2010 FLW Tour Table Rock tournament and the 2010 FLW AFS Toledo Bend tournament; catching Bass at each weight from one pound to eleven pounds and putting my wife on a 27” Trout taken from the Guadalupe River.

 

Favorite Lakes: Choke Canyon, TX; Falcon, TX; Vernon Lake, LA.

 

Favorite Technique: Spinner-bait in shallow cover.

 

Fishing Strengths: Versatility and persistence.

 

Largest Bass: 11lb 5oz, Lake Austin, TX.
